They Played Football as Children. Now Their Families Mourn.
We appreciate the families who tragically lost young sons & shared their broken lives & #CTE diagnoses. None played past high school.
This is all preventable if we #StopHittingKidsintheHeadrollingstone.com/culture/cultur…
@Forbes You should include in this article the stories of amateur athletes (young adults), that parents have lost to CTE, to balance out the perspective that youth tackle football has its “benefits”. There are many sports a child can play that doesn’t subject them repetitive head trauma.
A new study by the Boston University CTE Center found CTE in 41% of athletes who died before age 30.
CTE Center Director Dr. Ann McKee explains the research and what more can be done to prevent the disease in young athletes.
@BradMossEsq They should spend a portion of the $35 million researching the effects of repetitive head impacts and concussions on amateur football players. And then another portion on helping living youth inflicted with CTE and other brain damage related diseases no one wants to talk about.
