Age verification is supposed to safeguard children. But WHY would you teach your children to doxx themselves because TikTok asks them to provide ID? How does it make any sense? Are age verification laws meant to introduce the digital ID by the back door? Share your take below.

During my talk about Digital IDs at @BSidesLondon the first question I was asked was “How do we stop it?” Looks like it is partially stopped. But for those against it, or not convinced, it’s to early to celebrate. We still do not know much about the implementation, and the @UKLabour government changes its tune often. Consultations start soon: keep an eye on gov.uk/search/policy-… and voice YOUR opinion once they’re live.

This is a kind reminder that before my talk at @BSidesLondon there will be a debate held in the Parliament on the subject of Digital IDs. This is 8th of December 2025. I highly encourage everyone to watch it (will be on YouTube) and familiarise yourself with arguments put forward by @UKLabour @Conservatives @reformparty_uk and @TheGreenParty so you can make up your mind yourself. I doubt that the debate will alter the course the government is currently on. If you are curious about the matter and have the ticket to BSides London, please attend my talk, which will give you an overview of what Digital ID is, and what it’s not going to solve.
