@DanyBittel Yeah man, here's a link 👍 It came out very much on the more transparent side though. So awesome to play with your data man. Really big, big thank you - literally everything you scan I can feel the immense amount of time that went into it kiriengine.app/share/3dgs?tas…

The undisputed king of micro splatting
@DanyBittel has generously shared a bunch of his data. Go check it out now, it's really an amazing gift!
We threw it into KIRI Engine to check how our 3DGS to Mesh 3.0 would perform on a micro level and as hoped, good data in = good data out 😆

I'm releasing the COLMAP dataset (1.9GB) I used for the Raspberry! Maybe somebody want to do a higher res version? A LichtFeld version would also be cool to see.

@_cgman_ True true haha, I put this out quickly and just had a super quick play so didn’t have time to jump into the groups themselves - but nevertheless, even just playing with the ball collision is so satisfying! Can’t wait for self collisions 🤩
English

@KIRI_Engine_App Haha, the tearing still like got stucked in the place, haha! Maybe keyframing the weight paint pin math node could be helpful... It's just a test, so you can tweak it to refine it!
English

Not everyone knows, but there's a few 'secret' check boxes in Blender that can open up some crazy experimental tricks and techniques.
Big thanks to Kevin for sharing this demo file 😆

Just tried the new Cloth Dynamics solver in Blender 5.2 Alpha #geometrynodes with interactive fern foliage! Still missing self-collision for now, and I had to jump inside the node group to tweak a few things manually, but it’s great to see this system exist now... #b3d #blender

@benpicko Yep, still in the works, this is absolutely something we want to support.
English

@KIRI_Engine_App When will we be able to upload our own splats to process into meshes? I saw on reddit that this is being worked on -- I'm able to get much better splat results through desktop programs but the mesh tool is incredible

3D Gaussian Splatting Mesh 3.0, more results coming in.
The main improvements: smoother large surfaces, better structure retention on thin geometry, and less broken mesh overall. Side-by-side with 2.0 in the video below, thin details is where it really shows.

This is what the algorithm change actually looks like in practice.

Deforming Gaussian Splats with lattices 💡
Updates and fixes on our free 3DGS Render addon for Blender are done! Now is time for documentation and new tutorials before the release.
If you have an idea for a tutorial, or something you're curious about, let me know and I'll try to squeeze it in 😁

We’re excited to collaborate with @KIRI_Engine_App on workflows that connect 3D capture, Gaussian Splatting, and production-ready 3D asset creation.
Here’s a quick workflow for bringing a KIRI Engine Gaussian Splat into Blender.

@RenderHub3D Love this. Looking forward to sharing more with RenderHub😆
English

@RenderHub3D Thanks! Would love to see what your community creates with KIRI too, especially if any of them turn their captures into full scenes or assets for RenderHub.
English

@KIRI_Engine_App These are great tips! We're excited to see what the RenderHub community members create using KIRI Engine. 🙂

We’re excited to team up with RenderHub @RenderHub3D to share more workflows around 3D capture, Gaussian Splatting, and creator-ready 3D assets.
To start, here’s a quick guide on capturing better 3D Gaussian Splatting scans with KIRI Engine.
Because better assets usually begin with better capture 📷

Scaniverse is technically our competitor. But they just shipped SPZ 4 😤
Faster encoding, tens of millions of Gaussians, configurable SH quality, extension-based metadata. Hard to ignore.
Honestly? Good. The whole 3D Gaussian Splatting ecosystem wins when the format layer matures.
Okay. Respect🤝 @NianticSpatial
English

@DonKikon_Art Awesome to hear 😆sometimes the results with the new method can be crazy good!
English

@KIRI_Engine_App Not knowing I just did a scan yesterday and came out awesome.
English

We just shipped 3D Gaussian Splatting to Mesh 3.0 and wanted to share what actually changed.
Compared with the previous version, thin structures survive the conversion more reliably now, like cables, branches, chair legs. Less disconnected geometry to clean up afterward. Curved surfaces hold together better. And it's about 20% faster.
