@AnjaliMody1 Congress missed to note the intensity of youth anger against it. The Dravidian parties missed to note youth dissatisfaction against them. And both were convinced by powerful media that their legacy was too strong to be shaken by newcomers. Some more is there. Maybe later!

Dravidian intelligentsia responded to the rise of TVK with contempt like what the Congress of the 1950s-60s had towards the DMK. The elite Congress leadership saw the DMK leaders as amateurs and supporters as uneducated ruffians. The rest is history, which sometimes repeats.

What I find strange is that anti-caste cultural warriors who are otherwise extremely protective of their identity politics have remained muted about non-SC candidates being reported (deliberately portrayed?) as Dalits.
