“The Court [McConnell] created ended up being the Court that helped to enable Donald Trump to not eventually face prosecution. It was the biggest miscalculation of his political career, and no doubt will be a stain on his legacy,” says biographer Michael Tackett.

New: An internal FBI document obtained by NBC News shows that executives use the FBIs Sentinel case file management system to identify agents and employees who worked on January 6 cases. The document says there were around 2400 investigations in total. The document says the search of case files was used to generate a list of names who then received a survey asking them exactly what they did on these cases. This is being viewed within the FBI as a retribution mission.

USAID is filled with idealistic people who work long hours, often in dangerous places, to save lives. Debate policy or spending levels all you want, but calling them evil or claiming that they hate America is truly disgraceful.

Yesterday, the US vice-president called Denmark a bad ally and repeated the threat of a hostile take-over of Greenland. It has been only three years since Danish troops left Afghanistan where they fought with the Americans for 18 years and suffered the highest casulties per capita of any country including the Americans themselves. For one reason only: To protect the United States after 11/9.
Ryan Evans@EvansRyan202

I'm thinking today of our Canadian and Danish allies who answered the call to fight bravely alongside us in Afghanistan. Danish troops kept me alive in Helmand and the Canadians were just next door in Kandahar.

In its simplest terms, the apparent demise of #USAID is the result of the world's richest man ending a program that helps millions of poor people. You don't need a Ph.D. in moral theology to see why this is an evil. You can just read Jesus's parables on the rich and the poor.

As Trump steals our data, fires cops, releases his violent inmates onto our streets, and raises all of our grocery costs…remember this: It’s a hell of a lot easier and cheaper to defend freedom than to get it back once it’s taken. Get ready. He’s coming for your freedom.

In 2012, when I was the US ambassador to Russia, Putin shut down USAID inside Russia. Why? Because their work supported free markets, democracy, human rights —ie causes that threatened Putins dictatorship. Shutting down USAID is exactly what autocrats all over the world want.

NBC News has confirmed reporting by The New York Times that FBI personnel have been given a survey asking them questions about their participation in January 6 cases. And also that the head of the New York field office sent a message to colleagues saying: “Today, we find ourselves in the middle of a battle of our own, as good people are being walked out of the F.B.I. and others are being targeted because they did their jobs in accordance with the law and FBI policy.”
