The older I get, the more I see why it’s important to only keep people around who have the same morals, manners, and sense of consideration as you. It’s not being picky, it’s protecting your peace. When you reach a certain stage in life, chaos and disrespect just aren’t entertaining anymore. You start craving calm, mutual respect, and people who move with the same kind of heart as you do.

Unfortunately, at some point you do have to accept that some people will go out of their way to misunderstand you. They will form some version of you in their mind that is so far off from who you actually are that it will enrage you to tears. You will have to move on.
