ICYMI: Residents and leaders from @LeadingAge member communities Goodwin Living and @asburycomm joined advocates and lawmakers on Tuesday, April 28 at the House Triangle in Washington, D.C. to lend their voices in protecting Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and the immigrant caregivers older adults rely on every day. The Supreme Court heard an oral argument on April 29 in a case tied to efforts to end TPS for Haiti and Syria; a ruling is expected in late June or early July. As the Supreme Court considers a case tied to efforts to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Haiti and Syria, resident Rita Siebenaler of @LeadingAge member Goodwin Living is joining the fight over immigration policy. As @NPR highlights ways in which residents would be affected by losses of these employees, Siebenaler gives her thoughts: "They've already been vetted and have work permits, and they ought to be allowed to continue," she says.
