Dear Mr @MichaelPatak ,
I’m writing to you not only as a @Topstep customer but as someone who genuinely believed in the path and promise of your platform.
Today I found myself both disappointed and frustrated. Without any clear communication, @Tradovate preferred and fully integrated trading platform—has been removed from use with Topstep. Instead, I am now expected to use TopstepX, a platform that, while interesting in concept, simply does not meet the standards serious traders like myself require. It lags, lacks precision, and—most importantly—does not allow me to use the custom indicators and setups that I’ve carefully developed and trusted for years.
What’s most upsetting is not simply the technical inconvenience—it’s the lack of transparency. A decision of this scale, directly affecting paying customers, was rolled out without proper warning, dialogue, or explanation. This damages the trust I once had in Topstep—a trust that was part of why I committed my time, energy, and money here in the first place.
I’m asking—urging—you to reconsider this decision and allow Tradovate to remain an option on Topstep. You have built a great reputation with traders like me. Please don’t risk it by forcing us into tools that limit our edge and reduce the quality of our trading.
I intend to share this message publicly on Twitter and tag you directly—not out of malice—but because traders deserve clarity, and Topstep deserves to be accountable to its loyal community.
Please fix this.
