This was entirely within standard process and agreed at the time.” This comes amid mounting scrutiny of Romeo’s time in New York back in 2017, now the PM has made clear privately he wants her to be his next Cabinet Secretary. It should be said allies inside Whitehall have rallied to her side, alleging that a “misogynistic” whispering campaign is being waged against her.
