My new series ALLEY CATS comes to Netflix on 7 August. I've never been so excited/worried about any show since The Office. There's nothing like it. And as with all my work, some people will hate it & some will fucking love it. But how can I make sure everyone watches it? Help!

What is going on in Ireland? On Thursday, a Nigerian man was arrested for using AI documents to fraudulently obtain 145 credit cards on which he ranked up spending of €804,000. He is a father of 7 with “no fixed abode”. And has been flying into Ireland each week to claim Jobseeker’s Allowance. Even worse: the man has been given legal aid to pay for lawyers to defend him in court.

I think the present government has destroyed the relationship between the public and the Garda Síochána for good, Having a late lunch in a resturant and four members of the guards walked in three males and a woman. Suddenly the place went quiet, they were seated, Other customers and staff looking at them. Their order was taken and shortly after the owner or manager went and asked them very politely to leave the premises as they were not welcome, that their presence was upsetting other customers and would they inform their colleagues they are not welcome either, As they walked out the door tail between their legs people clapped and cheered it was surreal.

"Your son might work in a grocery store bagging groceries for the rest of his life." Someone said this to me right after my son Jack was diagnosed with autism. Over the years, the words stuck with me. I thought about them when he couldn't sit for circle time in kindergarten. When he couldn't take the bus home from school safely. When he started middle school, then high school. Fast-forward. Jack is twenty-one now. He works in a grocery store. He cuts fruit in the produce department. He works from 8:00 - 2:00 three days a week. He sets his alarm. He puts on his uniform. He walks to the bus station. He arrives on time. In this life alongside autism, I've learned it's not always about the destination, but how you got there in the first place. I've learned that a life lived differently is not a life less lived. Any any work, not matter what kind, is honorable. What a beautiful thing. Please join me in congratulating my son Jack on the first four months at his job. We are fiercely proud of him.
