April is #NationalVolunteerMonth and we’re proud to spotlight seven-time Liver Life Challenge® runner, Ceara S.! Ceara will be running the 2026 Bank of America Boston Marathon on April 20th representing ALF for her seventh time. Running became Ceara’s way of honoring her grandfather who she lost to liver cancer from years of living with undiagnosed hemochromatosis. Being a part of Team ALF has changed Ceara’s life in profound ways—she met her best friend running with Team ALF at the 2019 Boston Marathon and had the special opportunity to run for her friend’s father. Ceara has participated in the 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2025, and 2026 Boston Marathon along with the 2023 Chicago Marathon. Because of dedicated volunteers like Ceara, together, we can make a difference and strive towards a world without liver disease.
