I’ve said for a long long time that whilst football is a low scoring sport, it shouldn’t be as low scoring as it is, and if teams actually look to play with the personality to show the best of themselves, 5-4, 4-4 results etc should be a lot more common. You saw that the other night. The reason why football is so low scoring is most players by habit play passive. Do yourself a favour. Any game this weekend. Watch one player like hawk. And notice how many times that player by habits automatically chose a more passive option rather than the most offensive one, whether it’s a first touch, pass, action off the ball etc. You’ll be amazed how many times you count a player choosing the passive option.
