Achilles is depicted as the ideal of heroic MANHOOD: A tall and powerfully built with broad shoulders, a massive chest, and exceptional strength that allows HIM to wield a massive ash-wood spear no other MAN could handle. HE is strikingly handsome, with thick, flowing xanthos (golden-blonde) hair and a radiant, almost divine presence that makes HIM glow like a god on the battlefield. So that means Achilles is NOT a short 5'1" tall, tiny-statured female pretending to be a male warrior! WTF. The Iliad was written 600 years before the Roman Empire. That is almost 3,000 years of Europeans learning about this fantastic story. ⁉️⁉️Why get the costumes, military battles, and historical background mainly accurate, but dramatically change the physical appearance of the characters? Modern adaptations shouldn’t tarnish ancient literature for some woke modern-day bullshit. We all know this movie will never be better than the 2004 Troy movie with Brad Pitt and Eric Bana. I hope this new movie crashes and burns.
