COAS called on President of Iran, Hassan Rouhani. Regional security environment and matters of mutual interest discussed. The President appreciated role of Pakistan towards regional peace and successes of Pakistan Army against terrorism.

COAS met Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Admiral Ali Shamkhani and Army Chief Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi. Regional security environment and bilateral defence cooperation discussed.

COAS arrived Tehran, Iran on official visit. COAS met Major General Mohammad Hossein, Chief of Staff Iranian Armed Forces. Both discussed regional security environment, efforts for regional peace & stability and Pak-Iran Border Security Mechanism.

General Yasar Guler, Commander Turkish Armed Forces (CGS) met COAS. Regional security environment and steps to further enhance bilateral defence cooperation were discussed. Vsiting dignitary appreciated role of Pakistan Army for peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan successfully conducted training launch of SSBM Shaheen-1 capable of delivering all types of warheads upto range of 650 KMs. Launch was aimed at testing operational readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command (ASFC) ensuring Pakistan’s credible minimum deterrence.

Speculations for amendment in Pak Army Act to implement ICJ verdict regarding convicted Indian terrorist Cdr Kulbushan Jadhav are incorrect. Various legal options for review and reconsideration of the case are being considered. Final status shall be shared in due course of time.

Notables of Raiwind Tablighi Ijtimaa met COAS. Army Chief offered Fateha for departed souls in tragic Tezgam train incident. Also prayed for early recovery of the injured.

CCC at GHQ. Geo strat & national security environment reviewed. Internal security, situation along Eastern Border, LOC and IOJ&K discussed. Commanders expressed firm resolve to defend the country against full spectrum threat.(1of3).

“We have attained better internal security and stability through cohesive national efforts and sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Armed Forces, all national institutions & above all the nation. We shall not let it reverse to suit any vested agenda at any cost”, COAS.(2of3).

“Pak Army as organ of state will cont to sp national institutions as & when asked as per constitution. While Pak Armed Forces are fully prep to thwart all threats, cont cohesion of national stakeholders on key national issues is essential to defeat inimical forces”, COAS.(3of3).
