With the 56th pick in the 2026 MLB Draft, the Kansas City Royals select RHP Jack Slightom from Lyons HS in Illinois! 89th on MLB Pipeline’s board, but was receiving plenty of top 2 round buzz. A 6’5” righty up to 98 MPH with his fastball🔥🔥

Today a dream became reality! A man-child from Willow Springs turned years of hard work, sacrifice, & belief into the opportunity he has always chased. Congrats to @JackSlightom13 & his family on this incredible achievement. “How can you not be romantic about baseball?”
