"It's time to call BS on the idea that we can't afford to look after Australians. "Subsidies that largely go to Clive Palmer, Gina Rinehart, BHP, Rio Tinto are growing faster than the NDIS." @R_o_d_C on 🇦🇺's runaway fossil fuel subsidies. #auspol 🎧 theaus.in/3PHIcMu

My super strong parenting opinion is that while the kids are awake, you come last. No spending all of Saturday golfing. That’s family time. 6 am tee time only, maybe. Wanna go to the gym? Go after the kids go to bed, or wake up at 5. In a few short years, they’ll be out of the house and you’ll have all the time in the world for your own stuff. It’s okay to come last for a while.

@SaltyBitch_52 Why wouldn't that mom let them go to the dance? This is ridiculous. It's a nice gesture but grow up mom...he wanted to take her to a school dance.

This father has shared custody with his daughter. The school has a father daughter dance and he has wanted to take his daughter for the past two years but it's always on the weekend that his ex has her and she comes up with excuses so he can't take her. The step mom knew how much it has bothered the father so she told him to be in a suit when he got home from work and to have flowers because she had a special surprise for him when he got home. When he got home, he was greeted by his daughter in a formal dress. Not only did the wife get her a dress but made snacks, and decorated the home for the occasion. Do you agree that divorced parents should not prevent each other from having these precious moments with their children?

@crushthemarket Maybe in real terms we will see this fall but I think the most they fall nominally will be 15-20%. Governments will do anything the can to stop it, I don’t think you are taking that into account

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is wrong about most social issues, but she's right about this one. I give her a lot of credit for speaking out. Very, very few politicians--Republican or Democrat--are willing to do so.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez@AOC

This is sad. I know as a politician these companies are going to spend a billion dollars against me for saying it but 🤷🏽‍♀️ Pervasive gambling is not good for society. It turns life into a casino, traps people in addiction & debt, surges domestic violence, and fosters manipulation.

This is retard-economics. The companies can only grow with a growing CONSUMER base. When you replace the workforce with robots, you impoverish people. Poor people don’t buy what you’re selling (unless it’s food.) They’re lying to our faces.
Chief Nerd@TheChiefNerd

JASON: “Elon seems to think we're gonna have one robot for every human.” JENSEN HUANG: “I'm hoping more … We're millions of people short in labor today. We're actually really desperately in need of robotics. All of these companies could grow more if they had more labor.”

That was an extraordinary press conference from Brad Scott. Admitted some players didn’t have a will to defend, admitted some went into self preservation mode, admitted there is a cultural problem with older players not digging in when it gets tough. Even on top of diabolical skills and players fumbling and handballing way too much. Just wow
Jon Ralph@RalphyHeraldSun

Brad Scott on his message to Essendon fans after THAT loss. “I have said this for three years, I am never going to tell Essendon fans to be patient. I reckon 25 years is long enough to hear the same message but if I am an Essendon fan I watch the character of these players and particularly the younger players who will make them proud one day. As frustrating as it is, good clubs stick together. You can give up or you can fight. I believe in these guys and think they are made of the right stuff.” @FOXFOOTY

Just to be clear @AlboMP the people who booed you yesterday & told you to leave did so because they don’t like YOU. They’re not terrorist supporters as you claim, they are grieving people watching their families & fellow countrymen being murdered with support from YOU.

@_alice_evans On that logic men have been pushed into wars to die and the worst jobs humanity has. Oh wait that still happens. If given the choice women will More often than men pick the selfish route. That isn’t a bad thing in their important role as a mother, but in every other area it is

I understand the economic implications of falling fertility But I also recognise that for most of human history, women have been pushed into marriage and motherhood as if this was their greatest glory, and thereafter left suffering. Women are now seeing alternatives & exiting.
Alice Evans@_alice_evans

Why is fertility falling in many countries? This is from one of my interviews in Aceh, translated with Microsoft. She feels overwhelmed, her husband is unsympathetic, and her friends' social media pages seem so much more fun. She feels lonely, left behind and incredibly sad.

@australian Hilarious. For decades. Girls have been discriminated against in the education space. Now that they are finally getting closer to equity it becomes not something to celebrate but rather, a 'crisis' for boys.

Politicians like Keir Starmer and Anthony Albanese have enabled Israel’s genocide in Gaza and materially support US-Israeli war crimes in Iran and Lebanon. Then they visit our mosques on days like Eid, expecting smiles, selfies and photo ops. What did they think would happen?

Australia's prime minister has been booed and shouted at by protesters during a visit to the country's largest mosque. Anthony Albanese and Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke attended Eid prayers at Lakemba Mosque on Friday morning

If Pauline Hanson gets anywhere near the levers of legislative power in SA or nationally, she will deregulate Australia’s guns. The risk of infecting Australia with American gun culture is too great - school/mass shootings are a weekly occurrence in the US. Voters: please note!

As a Gen Xer, I can tell you boomers and even my own generation comparing their 20s to today’s 20-30 year-olds needs to stop. I paid $600 for a West Hollywood apartment at 23. Today it’s $3500. Burgers weren’t $20, they were $6 to $8 in a nice restaurant. Life is not comparable. It’s a completely different world now.
