The Constitution Defenders Forum yesterday approached the Civil Court in Harare challenging the decision by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to block our public meeting in Glen Norah. The matter arises from an unlawful interference with our constitutional right to assemble and engage the public. If a person can be denied bail for a crime involving damage of a $10 window pane - committed in no aggravating circumstances, then what would happen to a murder charge. Yet bail is a right. This is not the law, they teach in Zim colleges.
