While I have been an occasional user here, this is my last tweet. Musk is a horrible human and Twitter is now, more than ever, a destructive force. Musk is also an 'induced-demand' transportation denier! ☹️ LinkedIn (marginally) and email or on my new e-bike is where I'll be.

@boyonabike62 @tomflood1 Luckily, I have some change and practice-oriented colleagues that I get to hang out with a lot. Am excited to have 25-35 students working next 6 months to re-imagine an entire cycle-street system & document sidewalk quality city-wide to help accelerate local change. Helps me, too

@MassTransitLady @uoregon @GEOabroad The class itself is just for enrolled college students, unfortunately. We have been sponsoring some OR pros to come- formal positions of power that should make it easier to implement all the things you are likely continuously pushing for. Theory does not equal practice yet though

@MarcSchlossberg @uoregon @GEOabroad I have my adult son in mind for the program, but truth is I want to apply. Is it available to adults pursuing knowledge to influence transportation systems in their community/city? I serve on a city’s Bicycle & Ped Advisory Commission.

And for anyone who wants an explicit URL and not just a QR code on this nice postcard about a wonderful class/opportunity, here you go. Share as you like to any U.S. undergrad or grad student from almost any discipline. 6 of 19 slots already filled. It's a class of hope. 😀

@MarcSchlossberg @uoregon @GEOabroad LOL & TY! I haven't figured out how to access a QR link when viewing it on my phone. Staring at it doesn't do it. LOL!! I use Bitly to shorten a link. It's great; it helps to see how many peeps view it.

@BrentToderian Why are sidewalks often the responsibility of a landowner but streets paid for by taxes? (And as space allows: what Is rough breakdown on countries that organize like this US approach?)

FIRST TIME I’ve tried this, but here we go — is there a QUESTION about cities, city planning, transportation, density, sustainability, my career, or whatever, that you’d like me to try to ANSWER in 280 characters? Note, I do NOT promise to answer every question, but will do some.

@bikeshopgirlcom @chapelhillgov Are the bollards in the middle of the bikeway? If so, one more reason to not have them there - hard to ride socially when there is a bollard in the middle of the bikeway. Looking at you @EUGTranspo 😀

@boyonabike62 So true. I'm grading a fun assignment where I have students count the number of empty seats that go by them over an hour or two on a busy-ish street. The amount of space that 1 or 2-passenger car travel takes up is astonishing & this doesn't even count parking / driveways, etc.

@atmendez @CityofBend Rollover curbs can be ok as they keep the bike lane permeable for cyclists (with obvious down side that they are permeable for cars too). At least in this image, spacing between curbs is generous, so that cyclist permeability remains. And the bollards aren’t in bikeway, yay!
