Just after the Women’s World Cup wraps up, the Matildas will head to WA as part of three double-header fixtures to qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Let’s give Sam and the Matildas the reception they deserve.

Get ready, WA. A festival of football is about to descend on Perth. Global superstar and WA legend Sam Kerr will lead the Matildas across three Olympic qualifiers right here in Perth.

And it means we can afford the things Western Australians deserve.

Making the tough decisions will ensure we’re saving future generations of Western Australians from out of control debt.

We're only able to deliver this kind of targeted cost of living support because of our responsible financial management and our decision to keep our energy assets in public hands.

Today’s State Budget delivers a $400 electricity credit for every WA household.

And WA’s unemployment rate fell to 3.4% in March 2023 - the second lowest of the States, while our labour force participation rate remains the highest of the States at 69.1%.

The strong result has been underpinned by women finding full-time employment growing by more than 10% over the past 12 months - a terrific result.

New jobs data from the ABS for March 2023 show WA's economy remains strong. A record 1.53 million Western Australians were employed in March, including the highest ever level of full-time employment.

It’s all part of our once in a generation METRONET project – which is slashing travel times, improving safety and building strong communities while creating thousands of local jobs and opportunities for local business.

We promised to build the Morley-Ellenbrook line – and my Government is delivering. Today marks the biggest milestone on the project to date, with the first tracks being laid on the METRONET Morley-Ellenbrook Line.
