Idk who needs to hear this but there's nothing wrong with eating the same meal every day. Your food doesn't have to look pretty to be healthy. You don't need to come up with a new recipe for dinner every night. Consistency > creativity when it comes to health.

Counting calories ❌ Counting nutrients ✅ The quality of your food matters much more than the quantity. The calories in, calories out argument doesn’t account for the fact that your body is not a car. Your gut microbiome, your metabolism, and your hormones all influence how efficiently you use calories and how many you actually burn. That’s why calorie counting as a weight loss method is often unhelpful. Instead you should focus on nutrients and nourishment.

This is why “eat what your grandparents ate” doesn’t make sense from a health standpoint. Most of us should look at what our great-grandparents or the generations before them were eating instead. They were the ones still using animal fats and eating real food.

“Our grandparents were eating real food!” Not sure how old your grandparents are but I’m pretty sure a large portion of our grandparents were cooking everything in crisco and margarine.
