If this goes into effect it will directly harm my business. It could cause us to either not have the resources to hire more people or, god forbid, do layoffs. This would not only make it more complicated to get paid, but take away dollars we need to function. And for what?

From 2027 Roblox is going to be taking a cut from all brand integrations inside games. Currently a brand can work directly with developers, meaning developers take the full fee, from 2027 Roblox will be charging developers for having brands inside their games.

I noticed today you can breakdown your game analytics by "when user first played". I think this has been added super recently (but maybe I just missed it). Kinda cool that you can see how many of your DAUs have stuck around!

Which is why I think the Data Store Manager is a super cool addition to the Creator Hub. It let's you see stuff you'd never have found unless you had a reason to go looking with the old APIs

About 700 of them are DataStores where the names are just single player ids - but the info within is of a schema I never used. The most logical explanation is in my inexperienced past I shipped an update that had a third party module that wrote this & never noticed.

I was just looking at the Data Store Manager for Speed Race, haven't looked since they added this feature.. There are 800 data stores, most of which have totally random names, wtf are all these?? I can only imagine at some point there was an exploit that let people create them?

That said there are also a lot of AI grifters willing to sell you on the idea you can make an amazing game with no prior experience. You cannot. If you can't script and don't know the basics of system design or UX you will not magically make something good.

I enjoy reading all the people refusing to use this and saying "it's slower than doing it yourself" Like, sure. I've got through more work in a month than I think I did all of last year. It is fantastic for writing boilerplate that otherwise takes ages. Best update since forever

* I should note this slop game has been at 100/150 CCU for literally months. Zero updates - but it has a clicky thumbnail and exploded last week for no other reason. I'm seeing other similar games with obviously clickbaity thumbnails rising around the same time

There seems to have been a Roblox algorithm change on ~24th February that has changed the weighting of PTR in the algo to a ridiculous degree. I personally have had a slop game with these stats go to 800 CCU in the last few days

I already thought PTR was massively overweighted by the algorithm which is a lot of the reason for the explosion of slop, but it's incredible that it looks like the recent algorithm change actually favours these games *even more*

Games where PTR is not the strongest metric are down across the board, and in a sample of ~10/20 ish games that I also checked almost all of the ones with clicky thumbnails saw CCU rises after roughly this date, and all of the ones that fell had worse thumbnails

Has anyone elses Immersive Portal revenue just completely collapsed? I'm assuming the ad fill is just shockingly poor, but it's also possible this game was shadowbanned somehow for terrible metrics. If you use Immersive Portal ads let me know if your graph looks like this!

A top tip is to paste the generated code into another AI, e.g Gemini and ask it whether it is good or could benefit from simplification etc. Get the chatbots to defend their code and argue against each other.

You cannot code a full game with ChatGPT or Claude, but if you already know how to make a game and know how to build systems, having an AI write the code that would otherwise take hours (or days!) of research to figure out is unbelievably useful.

The most useful part of AI agents for me is that they know how to manipulate CFrames way better than me. I was having an issue computing alignment of dragged parts onto each others surfaces and ChatGPT just spat out a load of CFrame math that worked immediately. Game changer
