@itsmoonhead @S1apSh0es Not true. To say ppl didn’t care is inaccurate. Many circumstances led to this point / era in the speedway’s history. The “people didn’t care” comments are easy statements to make but just not true.

@S1apSh0es I don’t want to see it go but I think if people cared about the place when they were racing there (with grass and vines growing all over it in recent years) as much as they care now it would’ve never gotten to this point

WATCH THIS⬇️ How does this make you feel? Racing is being mocked. Laughed at. This is the REAL lack of respect that the movement to protect & preserve @GPSspeedway1 is receiving from elected officials. The recent news is a positive step but don’t be fooled. This is far from over.

Listen to your County Administrator who gets paid $220,000 a year from our tax dollars make fun of the racetrack. He mocks us and says the lake should be a district overlay but not the racetrack!!!!😡😡😡😡 He’s more worried about catering to lake Keowee residents than he is about middle class citizens that want to save our racetrack !!! This has to STOP! The council shouldn’t be allowed to pick and choose what they want instead of what the people want. #savegreenvillepickens #greenvillepickens #saveourracetrack

@DanielRoelkey @MatthewDillner Not engagement farming. I don’t get paid because people respond. And what about the people who would have to work? That’s what happens when you decide to work in sports. Nights, weekends, holidays. You work. And it’s not like the had the weekend off. They worked Saturday.

@TravisRockhold Sports sure. When you’re working in racing, in particular, say the Cup Series, traditionally, it comes with the understanding that it’s a family sport and days like Easter Sunday and Christmas were considered sacred.

@MatthewDillner Many of those ppl worked yesterday so they didn’t get the weekend off. Also, when you work in sports you’re signing up to work on weekends, holidays or other times many people wouldn’t be.

@MatthewDillner I just think some times youve gotta celebrate it on a different day. I hated it as a kid and I got older and understood that the magic was about the people I was with and never the day itself, with as much respect as I could say it with.
