🚨🥊👀 #SOUNDING OFF — Robert Garrigus is not pleased with the addition of an additional Signature event in 2026, and took aim at Jordan Spieth — “So, does that mean one more sponsor invite for Jordan Spieth? Tell Spieth I'll play him for any amount he wants. I win, I get his five invites to the signature events.” Garrigus made one start in 2025. Who do you think would win their match? Day 32: Big Boy Crootin, 2011 Yesterday we started off with the Coach Strong Era. Today we’re going to talk about Louisville’s strongest recruiting class, and in my opinion the most impactful singular recruiting class…yet. For today’s post we’re going to be using ESPN’s recruiting service. While yes ESPN recruiting today is seen as a joke, due to the revolving door of recruiting service made by Shannon Terry it’s hard to find consistent recruiting rankings as far back as the early 10s. Louisville would take 23 commitments in the 11 class. 3 of which were ESPN Top 150 commitments. 9 of which would see significant time in the NFL. The 2011 recruiting class would go 40-12 at their time in Louisville. They would win a BCS game and make the move up to a power conference. Some of the players we’ll highlight individually: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Miami, FL. Obviously the gem of the class. Teddy Bridgewater was an absolute standout college QB, he would be named Big East Player of the year and Big East Rookie of the Year. Still playing in the NFL to this day! Teddy has been a Pro Bowl selection and is a Rooney Award winner. Gerold Holliman, S, Miami, FL. One of the top safeties in the country while at Louisville. Holliman won the Thorpe and Jack Tatum Award. He set the NCAA record for most INTs in a season with 14. He was also an all American. Calvin Pryor, S, Port St Joe, FL. Another standout safety while at Louisville. He would go on to be drafted in the first round. DeVante Parker, WR, Louisville, KY. An absolute dog in both college and the NFL. DeVante was Teddy’s first target. He would be drafted in the first round and had a long successful NFL career. Lorenzo Mauldin, DE, Atlanta, GA. A monster among men in college. He was drafted in the third round of the NFL draft. He’s been legitimately one of the best CFL players for a few years now. The class would land right around the 25 mark depending on the services you’re using but this class was so much better than that. Andy Staples would go on to rerank this class in 2015 to a top ten class. This class is talent at the level that Louisville has never been able to obtain in the HS ranks. Louisville went down to Miami and took just about anyone they wanted. While at the same time building a wall around the state of Kentucky. This was exactly the recruiting plan that Howard put into place in the mid 80s and is a plan that has been used at Louisville post Coach Strong. The one thing I remember about this class is how much of an eye opener it was nationally. Majority of these guys were extremely under rated by most recruiting services, with that being said Louisville was winning battles over Miami, FSU, and UF for mid 3 star guys. It just wasn’t normal at the time. That’s all for this great recruiting class though! Let me know some of your favorite players from this class!
