...I spoke to a long serving, senior RCMP officer this morning. He told me this gun grab and the decades of wasted resources and efforts fighting legal gun owners has cost Canadian lives. The Israeli army said it would target two more bridges over the Litani River in eastern Lebanon, after already destroying at least seven key crossings. Yesterday, we reported from a destroyed bridge in Tyre, where only one crossing into the city remains. The director of the main hospital in Tyre said its operations now rely entirely on international aid deliveries, including medication and diesel, crucial for electricity after its solar panels were destroyed in an Israeli strike. Cutting the last road would trigger a humanitarian crisis.

Truly mysterious how local politics works. Is this not the very same Nkululeko Dunga who was fired as Ekurhuleni Finance MMC by ANC Mayor Xhakaza in 2024 who now lands the whole Gauteng Finance MEC job? Did I miss the part where his track record suddenly improved, or is “coalition politics” a new qualification on its own? The one area that needs critical focus in Gauteng right now, as literally everyone knows, is the judicious allocation of funds to fix infrastructure. Will this help fix Gauteng? How will his R179 billion budget be allocated?
