Obviously lots of work yet, but this is a helluva start.
This was always the promise of a Trump Presidency, deals with adversaries to gain common ground. Every country runs on trade and China desperately needs a jump start.
They have done a fabulous job of creating the impression of a good economy. But a lot of it is fake accounting and tricks to hide the use of state control to make it appear better.
They built many things they can't even use just to keep their growth numbers up but that was only a short term fix. The bigger problem is demographics.
The One Child policy from 1979-2015 means they have an aging population and not nearly enough young people to replace them. They started the policy out of fear of famines and the idea they couldn't keep up with a rapid population growth.
But they did and now they have a major hole in new work force. More than anyone the may need Optimus robots from @elonmusk. In the short and mid term they just need to maximize trade so they can keep their machine humming.
That's exactly the kind of opening President Trump and his team are perfectly positioned to exploit. And if done correctly to our mutual advantage.
