Working on getting comfortable with one hand when needed, even if the ball is coming straight in. We were working on one hoppers straight in, glove side and backhand. A couple of the ones straight in were very close to eating her up. We were talking through that depending on the ball, it’s okay to react and go one hand to get closer to the ball. Going two can hinder your reach and the ball can get on you quick.

Just a few drills you do can by yourself with a rebounder. The ideas are endless👏🏼 I am using @ProRebounders pro 3x3 rebounder and 26”x26” jr rebounder. You can use code MEGREM10 for $10 off your next rebounder. Link to rebounders: bit.ly/4bL8wNh

Clips from my recent YouTube video “DeMarini Vizion Bat Review.” You can find the full breakdown there. The Hackett sisters (Kamryn 18, Brystal 14, Anslay 12) liked the bat. I personally didn’t love it, as it felt too stiff and I really felt all the mishits. Then again, I don’t really love one piece bats! I also need to lock it back in and work on my swing. 😬 Whenever I review bats, I can’t stress it enough that every single player has a different preference or feel. It’s fun testing out all different kinds of bats but take what we say with a grain of salt.

Interesting play. If batter doesn’t move out of the box, there’s no interference. Regardless, I am very confident the batter knows she should have taken off for first and the corners know they have a better read and route to the ball😬

Prep step/pre pitch hop •Getting your timing down perfectly allows you to get to balls quicker and more efficiently •Land a split second after ball hits the bat •You should always be in motion. You don’t want to land and be flat footed for even a half second.

@MegRemSoftball For backhands we practice going down to each knee. This way the players get comfortable using either one But I also coach Freshman HS Big difference

Pick drill Get your feet going while the tosser throws glove side and backhand. I like to go quick so you can focus on control. Stay under control with your feet and work on timing. Minimal movement with your glove. For younger girls, you can slow it down just a bit to allow them to get comfortable with the movement. Just pause maybe 2 seconds longer inbetween each toss, but still have them keep the quick steps while waiting for the toss.

@Genomes26 For infield? I reccomend 11.5in (that’s the size I use). Anything over 11.75 is too big for infield.

@MegRemSoftball What’s to appropriate size glove for 10u. I bought my daughter a 11 3/4 Easton Professional. It seems small.

A few clips from one of my YouTube videos “the importance of having an approach at the plate” Everyone will have a different approach so split the plate up and figure out where you’re most successful.

@MetsDad914 Have her stand in while pitchers pitch! She will do everything the same and instead of swinging, she can say yes or no right when she’d swing or take.

@MetsDad914 Unfortunately you can’t do much with an injured hand, especially on glove hands. Maybe some agility work instead!

@MegRemSoftball This is great. My daughter was just diagnosed with a fracture of the growth plate in her left thumb (she’s a righty). Can you do another post for drills you can do with an injured hand?

Keep fingers more on top of the ball when starting your motion, not behind. I was always taught to face the ball away but you are technically never in that position when throwing, or shouldn’t be as it puts more stress on the elbow.

Quick transfers. -Ball hits in pocket and deflects to throwing hand (it’s a redirect). -No squeezing of the glove -Let the ball travel
