On May 27, 2026, Menlo Park Officers attempted to stop a vehicle connected to an assault with a deadly weapon incident issued by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit over the Dumbarton Bridge. The suspect was not located. During the response, one of our officers was involved in a collision near the toll plaza. The uninvolved driver was not injured. The officer sustained non‑life‑threatening injuries and is recovering. Power has been successfully restored on Ravenswood Ave, between Laurel and Alma streets, and all lanes of traffic are now reopened in both directions following earlier outages and road closure on Friday.
