RCM organisers Jennifer Clarke and Lyndsey Wheeler headed to Kingston Hospital on Friday to join in with their IDM celebrations! They held an amazing afternoon of home cooked cuisine, internationally educated midwives spoke of their experiences and Nazifa Anwar was in attendance.

Midwives work an estimated 100,000 unpaid hours every week just to keep services functioning, with 87% saying their units are not safely staffed.

Our members tell us they are exhausted, overstretched and working in unsustainable conditions. 45% of midwives report burnout often or always, and only 16% feel there are enough staff to do their job properly.
