Group B Semper Fi A tumultious Eurotrip has left them with a tattered H2H VRS but a lovely set of LAN wins for their major aspirations. There was some great moments and some terrible moments on their international trip. Semper Fi are funnily enough following FlyQuest. The biggest thing that is killing them is their composure in closing out games. They get in the lead but are unable to close out games and at worst, losing close games to teams way below them. The worst part is that they can challenge with the top tier 2 EU teams in Johnny Speeds, lilmix and many others. Returning to Australia should be good for Semper Fi. They really should've taken a map off Parivision and 3DMAX. There is no more almost against XYZ, we want to see we won against XYZ. Also, I respect that you went overseas to get further points. It had to be done. There are only so many points that you can get in Aus. Mindfreak Opening trap game against Arcade (ex-Underground Roster). It is good to see sliimey back in the Mindfreak roster and good to see that they picked up Foggers to be their cheerleader (@dpr_AU ) Mindfreak have achieved some key victories against Ground Zero and Abyssal (and TDU but forfeit wins don't count.) Their groups is pretty easy and they are probably incredibly thankful that they weren't put in Group A. It is strange that they have two former awpers (sliimey and dpr) yet zune is the one with the awp? That point aside, Texta has made an incredible return and has been that veteran presence within the team. Tucks has made the right call in moving into the coach role allowing zune to move to the awp and to pick up sliimey who is already familiar with the philosophy. Crunchy being maintained is huge as well. Can be a great lurk player but has been lacking as of late. Arcade Returning to the scene after picking up the Underground roster which has a high potential ceiling with two of the best young players in 74lor and Kras. However, with the ceiling comes the lower floor as well with younger players being inconsistent. Reinforced by veterans in Jynx and Nightraid can temper this somewhat with mechnical as the IGL. This team looks like they can do some damage. However, the biggest concern is not only the consistency of 74LOR and Kras who can go from worldbeaters to worldbeaten is that Mechanical's ability to frag and do damage as an IGL. With an ADR of 62 and KDR of 0.87, it is looking too great especially when the other IGL (Texta) is a fragging machine. Jynx and N1ghtraid may need to do heavy lifting if they want to get to the playoffs in this tournament. Skele Have fun! Semper Fi may be on a 5 bo3 losing streak but the only team you've beaten is the lowly LELUX. Not to mention that according to HLTV that you won't have your full roster here. So have fun being spanked by Semper Fi and then whoever loses between MF/Arcade.

DFRAG Series - Wildcard LAN - Series 1 I thought I'd do a write up on twitter since I will not be at the event. (I'll be at TGX instead). Group A Thunder Down Under They should be one of the favourites for this event as their domestic dominance continues on. They have pulled ahead of the pack (Mindfreak, GZ and Rooster). They are starting to look like a team with a great map pool and stomping local competition. This is what we expected from TDU from the outset instead of these close affairs (and losses to GZ in CCT). The previous CCT shouldn't really be included given that TDU got pretty messed up with scheduling (PGL / CCT on at the same time). Liazz, asap and aliStair have been absolutely smurfing the competition. Time Waves Enjoy the experience. You're not getting out of groups. Rough. Camille has been looking pretty solid but it won't be enough against Rooster, GZ and TDU Ground Zero Well, the purple patch of incredible form has ended. Losses to TDU, Mindfreak and Abyssal is not looking too great. 4 Bo3 series losses in a row hasn't helped and their T sides haven't helped either. Yet, they have a great CT side which can even stymy the great TDU. It is going to be an interesting tournament for Ground Zero. Will they be able to break the stumbling block and at least finish 2nd in groups (or even 1st?). Their first match against Rooster will be telling. Ground Zero are caught in the undertow where it is either do or do not. A small positive is that apocdud has been in stellar form as an IGL. Rooster New team with additions of Skull and Rekonz from FURY as well as ADK returning to the roster. Their sub, viridian has become TDU's coach. Chelleos is going to find it tough without asap and TJP especially when ju1ces needs a very good duo to work off. A good duo would be rekonz who has been the main firepower for FURY back in the say. Rekonz has the X factor to attain multiple kills when needed and to clutch out kills when needed. I still think ADK has a lot to give as well but should fit well in the support role while giving Skull all the lurk roles is the best option. Rooster have nothing to really prove at DFRAG and a dangling Ground Zero could be all they need to get to the playoffs.
