Nowruz Mubarak to all the Iranian Americans who call New York City home!
It was an honor to celebrate Charshanbeh Soori with so many of you in anticipation of spring, renewal, and - now especially - the enduring hope of a new day for the Iranian people.
Nowruz is typically a time of good feeling, but this year is different. I continue to stand in opposition to this war, and I wish as many moments of joy as possible for all Iranians observing this special holiday.

No, women who take their spouse’s last name after marriage, do NOT change their BIRTH certificates.
The marriage license is the legal document that recognizes the official name change.
You’re a senator, shouldn’t you know that or were you lying?
Birth certificate amendments are typically reserved for corrections (e.g., typos at birth), adoptions, or certain legal parentage changes—not routine marriage name changes. It denotes legal identifiers at BIRTH!

Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.

If every American voter, without a passport, decided to get a passport, as their primary form of ID, it would take 5 years to fill the requests. But Republicans want this to be in effect before the midterms.
They know this, of course, so it’s obvious voter suppression.

Got a call from another inmate in Maine women's prison today. She's a sex trafficking victim who feels 'traumatized' at being forced to share a room with 6'1", 310-pound male murderer Andrew/Andrea Balcer.
Another inmate told her that Balcer stroked her & another woman's hair while they were sleeping. He's also made sexual remarks and pulled up his shirt while bouncing up and down and telling the women to "look at my t*ts".
Why won't the office of Maine governor @JanetMillsforME respond to requests for a meeting so that New England Women's Solidarity can advocate for these vulnerable women? @TheMaineWire @PressHerald

🚨 Undercover reporting by @JamesOKeefeIII's @OKeefeMedia in Los Angeles has EXPOSED cash-for-ballot deals. Even Gov. @GavinNewsom is demanding prosecutions. So we asked Sen. Padilla (his own state) why he opposes the SAVE America Act safeguards designed to stop exactly this.
His full response? "Two different things."
When we pressed further, his team stepped in: "He made his point very clear just now."
He did not and the American people deserve answers. 👇

Not to mention about half of Americans don’t have a passport. It’s a pain to get one (and it costs at least $130). And if you live in a rural area? Even more difficult.
The SAVE America Act is a great way to throw a giant wrench in our election system.

The SAVE America Act doesn’t “Save” America. And this isn’t about voter ID. This bill requires everyone to re-register to vote in person and your driver’s license, REAL ID, or military ID aren’t even good enough. Imagine all of our seniors who don’t have valid passports and haven’t seen their birth certificates in decades? What about them? How hard will it be for them to register? And how do they get a passport if they can’t find their birth certificates? And what about the cost? If this becomes law, it will disenfranchise many Americans.

I was trying to explain to someone yesterday why women defend single-sex spaces.
“Imagine you were forced into an enclosed space with a strange man and told to take your top off in front of him. No choice. No opting out.”
“That’s different,” they said. “That’s basically sexual assault.”
“Exactly,” I replied.
“Now imagine the man is wearing women’s clothes - but you still know he’s a man.”
You could literally see the penny drop.
This is the grown-up version of being plied with cider at a party, shoved into a cupboard with a boy - then being told you’re frigid if you don’t do what he wants.
Only now, frigid has been replaced with bigot.
