Stop scrolling. I need you to imagine something that will destroy every excuse you've ever made about why God doesn't answer your prayers. Transport yourself back 2,000 years. You're sitting at Golgotha. The Son of God hangs before you. Blood drools from His face, congealing until He's unrecognizable as the same man who walked on water. The crown of thorns they jammed on His head mocks His claims of royalty while piercing deep into His skull. You watch His wrists. The nails driven through them are the only thing keeping Him upright as He desperately pulls Himself up. Just to breathe. Just to survive another second. His legs shake. Exhausted. Fighting to extend and relieve the unbearable tension tearing through His arms. The screams hit different when you realize they're coming from an innocent man. The moans pierce your soul when you understand He could stop this with a single word. But here's what wrecks me: It's MY sin keeping Him there. YOUR sin keeping Him there. God the Father has all authority to end His Son's suffering. One word. That's all it would take. Instead, He turns His face away. Why? Because something hasn't been accomplished yet. The wages of sin remain unpaid. The debt still stands. And hanging before you is your Substitute. The One you never asked for. The One you didn't deserve. The One you couldn't earn. So you sit. You watch. Six. Agonizing. Hours. Your tears run dry by hour three. Your excuses die by hour four. Your religion crumbles by hour five. Then the sixth hour comes. His body proves its mortality. Complete exhaustion claims its victory as Jesus prepares to surrender His spirit. You lean in, expecting Him to bow His head in defeat. Instead... Your ears catch the most unexpected, promising, mighty declaration this world has ever heard: "IT IS FINISHED." Three words. History altered. The chasm bridged. The penalty paid. The separation destroyed. Christ became sin for you. He took YOUR blame. Bore YOUR wrath. And now you stand completely forgiven at the foot of that cross. What did you do to earn it? Nothing. You just watched. That's the scandal of grace that religious people can't stomach. That's the truth that demolishes every performance-based faith system. That's why your good works mean nothing for salvation. He did it all. While you just watched. Stop trying to add to what He finished. Stop thinking your sins are bigger than His sacrifice. Stop believing the lie that you need to clean yourself up first. It. Is. FINISHED. Act like it. Live like it. Share this if you needed this reminder that your salvation was completed 2,000 years ago. 🏀 Tuesday was a great night for our Alumni basketball game. We got to see some familiar faces and the future of Demonette Basketball! Thank you to who all showed up to play and all who showed up to support!
