👏🏻❤️ Today is a massive day for our deaf and deafblind community and their families, as Irish and British sign languages are now recognised as official languages.
This means additional services will be put in place to ensure our deaf community is fully included and supported.
I am especially delighted that we will be leading the way by providing free sign language classes for all deaf children and their families.
I want to thank everyone who has campaigned and worked tirelessly for this transformative law over many years, today belongs to each and every one of you !🙌🏻

We have incredible hospitality businesses and a globally renowned food offering.
I was delighted to attend the launch of Ireland’s Next Top Chef 2026, a fantastic competition showcasing the talent, creativity and passion of our chefs.
I want to commend the organisers for this initiative to champion and celebrate our hospitality workers.
It was also great to meet some of our hospitality business owners this evening.
Best of luck to all the contestants, I don’t envy the judges! 👏🏻

The Ireland I’m working to build is one that belongs to everyone who shares this island, nationalist, unionist, and those who are neither.
We must move beyond the constraints of partition, which has divided our communities and limited our potential for far too long, and build a brighter future together.

Those behind last night’s attack in Dunmurry speak for absolutely no one.
They have no vision, no support, and have nothing to offer our society.
Our communities deserve peace.
No one is going to deny our young people and future generations that.
We will keep progressing and we will keep moving forward to a better future.
I have been in contact with local representatives to extend my solidarity and support to all those impacted.

British Prime Ministers may come and go, but one thing remains the same, their contempt and disregard for our people and communities.
No matter your background, nationalist, unionist, or neither, we are stronger when we stand together, standing up for workers and families in the face of British government failures.

Violence against women and girls is a cruel epidemic that has a grip on our society, and one we must confront together.
This week, we’ve launched the next stage of our plan to rid our society of misogyny.
We’re investing in local communities and frontline support, empowering young people, and ensuring our justice system properly holds perpetrators to account.
