one of my wokest takes is the fact that as white people we benefit from oppression of other marginalized groups and only by actively fighting against it and being anti racist by uplifting BIPOC and helping their voices become louder can we properly fight against white supremacy if "white people are oppressors" is offensive to you than perhaps you should look inside and figure out why. in this society we are all capable of being oppressors and only by accepting that can we fight against people who oppress us all.
Literal Whoo@anywhooith

been seeing alot of white trans women crashing the out from the sign saying that white trans people are oppressors too its objectively true why are we getting so defensive about it? is it so unheard of that you can be part of a marginalized group and still be an oppressor?

You read that homeless women are being raped and immediately blamed homeless men because you associate violence with poverty, whole time the primary perpetrators or rape of homeless women AND MEN are housed people (and cops) who lure them with promises of food, shelter and work.

A lot of people on here seem to believe that every single man is an oppressor but not every single white person and I'm not sure how they think thats coherent

like i need ppl to realize that trans men and trans women’s oppression is more alike than “opposite”. when i say trans men face misogyny, it doesn’t mean trans women don’t, it means that essentially all trans people are victims of misogyny
𝐐 🚩🏴Ⓐ@buckravers420

love how trans men talking about our oppression is almost always automatically considered as making a comparison to trans women's

There's a huge myth that a ton of people are faking sickness for some social/financial benefit, but the reality is that most disabled/chronically ill people are actually pretending to be less disabled than they really are because that's what society wants.

if you pass as a cis man, everything is great and you benefit from society, congrats! if you pass as a Trans Man, however, you are a much bigger target to harassment and violence than you were pre-transition, and likely benefit from little to no patriarchal structures.
mofu⁷ 𖤐 🏳️‍⚧️ BTS AUG. 11 ‼️@mofu_hospital

being born female as a trans man is a societal disadvantage that encompasses relationships, daily interactions, healthcare, education, mental health, and Several other factors, and its OKAY to admit that we are born with (and often retain many of) these patriarchal disadvantages

In my experience, there’s no amount of goodwill you can store going into disability. You can be an athlete, hold multiple jobs, show every sign that you love being active and socializing and are mentally well Once you claim chronic illness, you are crazy, lazy, and a liar

18 year old straight A university student gets Covid 6 months ago and now has severe Long Covid. Family keeps telling her she just had a cold and she is faking it. She had to withdraw from classes, can't focus, memory gone, dissociation, visual snow. She is crying for help saying "I can't live the rest of my life like this!" and wondering how she is ever going to graduate.

because we arent seen by society as our assigned sex Or as our actual gender (even if we pass theres a lot of situations where it just isnt the case, and it can easily be taken away by us being outed)

like, we both all have higher sexual assault rates against us and stuff like pay gap and employment rates and yet we are also all called gross men who cant speak on certain issues and have privilege based on it, something neither trans men nor trans women receive

i think this is Almost true, i think misogyny is wielded against all of us but we are all seen as a secret third thing (and not in a nonbinary way) which is also why both trans women and trans men get the concept of "manhood" used against us in a weaponised way
mofu⁷ 𖤐 🏳️‍⚧️ BTS AUG. 11 ‼️@mofu_hospital

when will you ppl learn that the world treats EVERY SINGLE TRANS PERSON as a woman, including trans women AND trans men, and that ALL OF US are victims of misogyny in some way or another

@thintechgodhead i think thats what always gets me about those thoughts its like, well im clearly not doing this for Fun and im hiding everything too much to be doing this for attention, so like, even if im somehow "pretending" just so i can hide other issues i have theres still issues so = BS

getting into my brainworms about how all my issues are fake and made up and i’m a bad person for expecting others to help me with that but also like. ok lets say it WAS all fake and made up. it’s still objectively distressful enough to me that i am not able to take care of myself

it is a little bit of a bummer that if you are mentally ill but trying really hard to do the healthy coping thing people assume you just aren’t actually that mentally ill and don’t need urgent help
