Something a lot of combat veterans struggle with is why they made it back home and their friends didn’t. They were better men, fathers and husbands with families. Something I wrestled with for a long time. Wasn’t until after we had my son that it finally dawned on me. He needed to born, he needed dad. That’s why I survived. You have purpose. God has a plan for you. You honor their memory by living a life of service to those around you. Be an American worthy of their sacrifice. Keep moving forward.
