NEW HERE: It's not just Gen. Randy George who's on the way out. Defense officials tell me and @TaraCopp that Hegseth's team also is removing: Gen. David Hodne, a former Army Ranger who leads the services Transformation and Training Command Maj. Gen. William Green Jr., head of the Army's chaplain corps Hodne's command was created under George's watch, while Hegseth has sought recently to overhaul how military chaplains operate.

This is so true. The advice I have given my friends who were going to work in the admin was just this....u will suffer eventual humiliation and ruin. It is as inevitable as the sun rising and setting. Trump destroys everyone he touches. Some took the advice and punted, others did not and joined up. And those that went for the glory....got pummeled in the end. Every single one of them.

Memo to MAGA people: you can do everything he asks you can suppress the Epstein files you can screech and scream at the Congress you can bring cases to the Supreme Court that are nonsensical, and you can prosecute people who do not deserve to be prosecuted. Anything that the guy wants, and he will still steamroll you.

Pam Bondi was fired largely because Donald Trump grew dissatisfied with her inability to deliver on prosecuting his perceived enemies, sources tell me. Her allies find that reasoning frustrating, because they say she was hampered by the legal system, not by any unwillingness on her part. Critics say that whole project was corrupt, and that she “took a sledgehammer to the Justice Department and its workforce,” in the words of one former official.

Hegseth is back to purging Generals. As his popularly continues to fall, and unpopular operations in Iran (and elsewhere) continue to expand, we should expect more of this. It’s very dangerous and bad for our national security. And for our troops. Gen George must speak out ASAP. Watch this space.🚨🇺🇸

Scoop: @SecWar Pete Hegseth has asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down and take immediate retirement, sources familiar with the decision told @CBSNews.

Advisors close to Trump considered the idea of moving US Attorney General Pam Bondi to another senior role in the admin, including director of national intelligence.  But Trump has said he wants Tulsi Gabbard to stay in that position, sources told me. @CBSNews

Hegseth has asked the chief of staff to the Army Chief to step down. Randy George previously served as the senior military assistant to SecDef Lloyd Austin during Biden admin. One of the sources said @SecWar wants someone in the role who will implement Trump and Hegseth's vision for the Army.  The vice chief of staff of the Army, Gen. Christopher LaNeve, who was formerly Hegseth's military aide, will likely be considered as a replacement. This is unrelated to the helicopter flyby at Kid Rock's home, I'm told. To add- I am not an Iran expert by any means (though as a former practitioner having served in the Middle East, I certainly battled them and their proxies on the ground in multiple arenas), but I'm definitely curious as to the reaction of those very plugged in to the Iranian diaspora, Iranian opposition elements, if this type of strike on civilian infrastructure targets is going to be counterproductive and degrade Iranian public support for US actions. Bombing to the "stone ages" was such a jarring statement from Trump-echoed and amplified by Hegseth-that this discussion is worth having.

This will be an extraordinary event with two world renowned investigative journalists- @michaeldweiss and @christogrozev - who hav systematically exposed both Russian perfidy and the USG coverup. And they hav all the data and receipts. Moderated by CIA veteran John Sipher, himself an expert on Russian intelligence.
