Oh @NalediChirwa ….Point missed!! Every functioning state regulates entry based on capacity and economic reality. South Africa cannot be the exception. You don’t just settle anywhere in the world. Countries tie immigration to clear conditions , skills, scarce sectors, or strictly defined refugee protections. So what policy logic is being applied here? We are not against documentation. But to present it as a solution especially under the claim that it will help track criminals….is fundamentally flawed. Illegal immigration is not just a criminal issue. It is an economic and systemic issue. You cannot document and absorb more people into an economy that is already failing South Africans. Documentation does not create jobs. It does not fix service delivery. It does not resolve structural unemployment. Until South Africa stabilises unemployment, restores service delivery, and rebuilds economic access, expanding the system only deepens pressure on those already left behind. This is not about opposing reform , it is about demanding policy that actually responds to the scale of the problem. Fix the state. Apply rational immigration policy. Prioritise South Africans. That is how serious countries operate. Stop fooling people and yourselves EFF.

Foreign National and His Girlfriend Arrested in Batho After Police Uncover Rifles Hidden Under Mattress and Over 1,100 Rounds of Ammunition Integrated efforts between Parkweg Crime Prevention and Crime Intelligence led to the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of unlicensed firearms and ammunition in Batho on Sunday night. The operation followed intelligence about a man allegedly in possession of illegal weapons at a residence in Dilape Street. At about 21:50 on 5 April 2026, officers arrived at the property where they were met by a male occupant who allowed them entry. Inside, police found a rifle safe that appeared to have been tampered with but was empty, prompting a more thorough search of the premises. Officers later discovered 23 boxes of various calibre ammunition hidden near a kitchen cabinet. In a bedroom, a 36-year-old woman was found lying on a bed. A search beneath the mattress uncovered four rifles, including an airgun, bringing the total to 1,163 rounds of ammunition and four firearms seized. A 46-year-old foreign national and his girlfriend were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition. The seized items will undergo ballistic testing to determine links to other crimes, while investigations continue. The suspects are expected to appear in the local Magistrate’s Court soon.
