The Marine Stewardship Council is deeply saddened by the passing of world-renowned ethologist, Dr Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute. @JaneGoodallInst Dr Goodall transformed the way the world sees our connection with nature. Through her research, writing, and tireless advocacy, she inspired generations to act with courage and compassion in protecting the planet’s biodiversity. Her legacy continues through education, including the Jane Goodall Institute Australia’s book Planet for Life by Abbie Mitchell, which reminds us of the responsibility we all share to be aware of our impact, from protecting wildlife habitats to addressing challenges such as overfishing. In her own words: “What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what difference you want to make.” Today, we honour Dr Goodall’s extraordinary life and give thanks for her unwavering belief that a better future is possible through the choices we make.
