People around the world began wearing denim in solidarity with survivors and in protest of victim-blaming.

In 1998, the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction, arguing that because the survivor was wearing tight jeans, the act must have been consensual. The decision sparked global outrage and a movement.
