Hey Zoba, I don’t know when you started getting interested in watching Manchester United or following the news especially back when Sky Sports was at its peak. Firstly, before Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, he played a huge role in choosing his successor. Pep Guardiola was admired by the Manchester United board at the time, especially since he was on a sabbatical around 2012/13 after leaving FC Barcelona. Secondly, United were aware of him and interested, but Ferguson never wanted Pep as his successor. Thirdly, Pep eventually joined Bayern Munich. Lastly, Ferguson directly recommended David Moyes, calling him “the right man,” and the Manchester United board fully backed that decision.
