She had just started the swim portion of the event. The water had zero visibility. Swimming isn’t allowed in the lake under normal circumstances. There is construction of a Ritz Carlton residences right next to the lake where she drowned…so hard to say what debris, etc. was underneath. Plus there are snakes, fish etc. in the water. The bigger issue is that it took over two hours to recover her body even though they knew where she went under. It’s a man made lake and not that enormous…but the divers had to rely on sonar to find her body.

That’s absolutely horrible but not surprising behavior from him. 100% inexcusable. How hard is it to be a “decent person”. Bucky is the exact opposite. The students, faculty, players and alumni love him. He engages with everyone and ensures his players do so as well. What a way to set an example to his players. He’s a leader.

@MyGuysKnow @ChuckDouglas_ Our family traveled to Nashville and stay in the team hotel. After a win, we were headed up to our room. An older couple was also on the elevator when Buzz stepped on. The sweet older lady on the elevator quietly said “good game coach.” He didn’t even acknowledge her.

A Commentary: There seems to a growing disconnect between the Maryland fan base and the Basketball program. Not because of the losing, but because it's largely the Buzz Williamses' rather than the Maryland Terrapins. Not to mention, the entire roster is made up of 'paid for hire', one year rentals/mercenaries. The latter isn't Buzz's or the players fault. It's the current college athletics NIL/Transfer Portal "pay for play" world we find ourselves living in. But, I get the sense that alums, supporters and fans are becoming increasingly detached from the "Buzz Williams' traveling circus" persona that seems to be the program's new identity. Frankly, Buzz + staff haven't done a very good job of assimilating into the culture or embracing the history of Maryland Basketball. It's "Buzz Ball" on the front of the uniform instead of Maryland. That's fine if you winning. But, what is the connection we are supposed to embrace + defend, angst over, if you are losing? Where's the Maryland Pride? We know you care about the team and your guys and your culture, but you'd be wise to start caring a little more about us and what Maryland Basketball has built and stands for. I'd suggest dropping the preaching/sermons, analytical drivel and ego down a notch or two in the future, before you've lost Terp Nation, completely. Rant Over. @TerrapinHoops @TeamCoachBuzz @umterps @TerpsADJimSmith @President_Pines @JCLaBue @kmills34

John Calipari is right on this — allow one player transfer, after that, you have to sit out a year to transfer. We have guys playing for four different teams in four years. It’s beyond ridiculous and bad for the sport:

November 18, 1999, 2:42 AM. Tonight, we honor the 12 Aggies who tragically passed in the collapse of the Aggie Bonfire. There will be a service held at 2:42 AM at the Bonfire Memorial to remember each Aggie that passed that 26 years ago. If you can, I urge you to attend. Here.

@PeterBurnsESPN Aggie at the game. Lots of emotions in over drive today during the first half. But the officer. In the wrong. Kudos to the players for their maturity.

Nebraska HC Matt Rhule took 3 minutes today to talk about mental health following the tragic death of #Cowboys DE Marshawn Kneeland: “Our generation of kids — my kids — they all just say, ‘Yeah, I’m fine. I’m straight.’ You really gotta unearth it. … That young man scored a TD just a couple days ago, and to the outside world you’d think he’s at the pinnacle. But he was dealing with something — I don’t know what it was. But I pray for him, him and his family.” Watch this in full... Incredible message:

Now if we could only get @lukebryan to match this🙏🏻 @heroes4children was founded by two mothers, Jenny Lawson and Larissa Linton who each lost a young daughter to childhood cancer. They help any family with a child who is being treated for cancer in the state of Texas….they don’t have to live here….just be treated within the state. And they help regardless of race, socio-economic background or political affiliation. This organization actually helped DJ’s father after Hurricane Harvey hit Houston in 2017. They were able to help him get back on his feet. As a result of everything coming full circle, DJ reached out to @Jason_Aldean and was the angel who “walked the talk” and gave $200k to this tremendous organization

Jason Aldean joined forces with 13-year-old cancer patient and honorary Secret Service agent DJ Daniel during a stop on his Full Throttle Tour, helping raise $200,000 for Heroes for Children, a nonprofit supporting families facing childhood cancer. The surprise onstage appearance followed a viral plea from DJ Daniel, whose wish to host a benefit country concert drew national attention and support from stars like Darius Rucker and Jelly Roll.
