Recognising the transformative potential of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in strengthening India’s agri-value chains, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India (GoI), launched the Central Sector Scheme for the Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs to empower small and marginal farmers by organising them into collectives.
NABARD acts as one of the primary implementing agencies for forming FPOs and enabling a robust ecosystem for them. A key intervention under the scheme is the establishment of a dedicated Credit Guarantee Fund for FPOs, jointly contributed by the GoI and NABARD. This fund aims to enhance credit access, reduce lending risks, and empower FPOs to scale sustainably, fostering collective strength, market access, and improved livelihoods for farmers across the country.
The data presented here pertains to the Credit Guarantee Fund for FPOs formed under the Central Sector Scheme Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) with the GoI as the Settlor and NABSanrakshan as the Trustee.
