I've derived benefit from criticism all periods of my life; ..I don't resent criticism; even when, for the sake of its emphasis; it parts company with reality

For too long I have warned that Iran’s 2,000 km range-cap is a political limitation rather than a technical limitation on its missiles forces. Still unclear which projectile was fired, but this marks the 1st operational IRBM use in history by Iran. wsj.com/livecoverage/i…?

Netanyahu just proposed the most geopolitically explosive infrastructure project on earth. A pipeline from the Arabian Gulf straight to Israeli Mediterranean ports. Bypassing Hormuz. Bypassing Suez. Bypassing Iran entirely 🗺️ Here's the route: 🛢️ Source: Saudi/UAE terminals (Ras Tanura, Jubail) 🏜️ Transit: Across Saudi & Jordanian desert westward 🔀 Gateway: Eilat Israeli Red Sea port 🚢 Terminal: Ashkelon/Haifa Mediterranean loading for Europe The strategic logic: Land pipelines can't be mined. Land pipelines can't be targeted by fast boats. Land pipelines don't pay Suez Canal fees. Why now? Hormuz effectively dead ☠️ Ras Laffan offline 3-5 years 💥 Gulf monarchies furious at Iranian strikes on their infrastructure Quiet Israel-Gulf cooperation The obstacles are real: Arab public sentiment Pipelines are static targets (sabotage risk) Capital requirements, decades long commitment Saudi public alignment with Israel But here's what changed: Iran didn't just attack Israel. They attacked Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman. The enemy of my enemy just got a lot more persuasive. This is essentially a modern revival of the Tapline which ran from Saudi Arabia to Lebanon from 1950-1976. This time the destination is Israel. This time the Gulf states have been bombed by their own neighbour. The map is clean. The politics are messy. But the conversation is happening. 🌍🛢️ I break down exactly what this means for energy markets and geopolitics in my latest article. 📩 Link in my bio

Terrorist regimes rely on deception as a core tactic. What you’re seeing is not a sudden leap, it is the gradual exposure of capabilities that were always further along than advertised. The uncertainty around what they have, where it is, and how quickly it can be operationalized is not a gap in intelligence, it is the product of a deliberate strategy to keep adversaries guessing until it is too late. So no, this is not surprising. It is confirmation. The missile range, the payload flexibility, and the nuclear ambiguity all point in the same direction, a system designed to hide its true limits while building towards maximum leverage. DESTROY EVERYTHING! This was always going to be the endgame.

Iran fired IRBMs at Diego Garcia nearly 4,000 km away? First ever time Iran has been known to launch something with this range. Iran was only known to posses missiles with ranges of up to 2,000 km, although, in theory, medium-range ballistic missiles such as the Khorramshahr-4 can have a significantly extended range with a reduced payload weight (normally ~1,500 kg)

Maybe they are finally taking it seriously after being mentioned in AQAP’s June 2025 video. Al-Qaeda’s core senior leadership has also indicated multiple times in the past few years that an attack on the Capitol remains unfinished and still needs to come to fruition, since they failed to hit it on 9/11. One key detail often overlooked is that the threat in the video says that it extends to those who work in the Capitol and their families. So, if employed in the Capitol, please maintain the same level of vigilance at home as you do at work.

🚨Iran’s operational IRBM launch against Diego Garcia means: - More defanging needs to be done against the Iranian missile threat - The regime still has new capabilities up its sleeve - Timeline to ICBM capability shrunk - Iran officially attacked a UK overseas territory

CNN has confirmed reports that Iran fired two intermediate-range ballistic missiles, likely Khorramshahr-4s, at Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean on Friday, over 2,300 miles from Iran, with neither missile impacting the joint American-British military base, according to a U.S. official.

If the Diego Garcia strike report is accurate, then one of the central assumptions about Iran’s missile program has just collapsed. For years, the accepted ceiling was around 2,000 kilometers. A ballistic missile reaching Diego Garcia suggests something in the neighborhood of 4,000 kilometers, which pushes it out of the medium-range category and into the intermediate-range class (IRBM). That is a strategic leap. The real story is not whether the missile was intercepted. It is that Iran may have demonstrated reach far beyond what much of the world believed it possessed. A 4,000-kilometer capability changes the map. Major European capitals begin to enter the conversation. Paris comes into range. London moves much closer to the edge of vulnerability depending on launch point and payload. This would mean the missile threat is no longer confined to the Gulf, Israel, or parts of South Asia. It would mean the radius of deterrence, defense, and fear has expanded dramatically. If confirmed, Diego Garcia was not just a target. It was a message.

Thank you, Bishop Barron, for proclaiming the truth. "Mrs. Prejean Boller was not dismissed for her religious convictions but rather for her behavior at a gathering of the Commission last month: browbeating witnesses, aggressively asserting her point of view, hijacking the meeting for her own political purposes." @BishopBarron
Bishop Robert Barron@BishopBarron

Over the past several weeks, Carrie Prejean Boller has complained that she was removed from the Presidential Commission on Religious Liberty because of her Catholic beliefs, and she has called out myself and other Catholic members of the commission for not defending her. This is absurd. Mrs. Prejean Boller was not dismissed for her religious convictions but rather for her behavior at a gathering of the Commission last month: browbeating witnesses, aggressively asserting her point of view, hijacking the meeting for her own political purposes. The Catholic position on matters of “Zionism,” to which I fully subscribe, is as follows: all forms of antisemitism are to be unequivocally condemned; the state of Israel has a right to exist; but the modern nation of Israel does not represent the fulfillment of Biblical prophecies and hence does not stand beyond criticism. If Mrs. Prejean Boller were dismissed for holding these beliefs, it is difficult to understand why I am still a member of the Commission. To paint herself as a victim of anti-Catholic prejudice or to claim that her religious liberty has been denied is simply preposterous.
