Everhart Cleaners was formerly located in a multi-tenant retail space in the city of #Greensboro. During the site assessment, the #DSCA Program found that indoor air was contaminated and installed a radon-type mitigation system to take care of the problem. #DSCADay

We need clean, reliable water for drinking, growing crops, manufacturing, and generating electricity. That’s why it’s so important to work together to make sure North Carolina has access to clean and reliable water. It’s an honor to continue to tackle this and other critical issues at this year’s @emergingissues Forum. The forum, a vision of the late Governor Jim Hunt, began 40 years ago as a way to bring together people from a variety of perspectives to build a safer, stronger, and more resilient North Carolina.

In Woodfin, Hurricane Helene’s rains flooded homes, bridges, the recycling plant, and its largest employer Silver-Line. When the flooding finally receded, the river was left polluted. The Town of Woodfin is one of eight recipients of $5.7 million for flood resilience projects in the French Broad River Basin thanks to @NCDEQ's Flood Resiliency Blueprint. Making investments like this helps protect communities from future flooding so North Carolinians can live in safety.
