Aviation taxes can be done in a way that's fair. One idea is the creation of an aircard, like a railcard or buscard, that gives the holder the right to two discounted flights per year, protecting the family holiday, while allowing prices on frequent flying to rise.

As long as holidays abroad keep getting cheaper, and our airports get ever larger, domestic tourism will decline. The UK has so much to offer but aviation must be taxed fairly for it to be a competitive holiday destination once again.
