A second male occupant in that vehicle was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. This is an ongoing investigation, and updates will be shared when they become available.

Around 7:07 p.m., Norfolk Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Melon and Goodman Streets. One of the vehicles appeared to have been parked, unoccupied. The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene prior to PD arrival.

Last Friday, NPD’s Traffic Officer Snios successfully completed the basic police motor course at the Chesapeake Bay Police Motorcycle School, where officers from across Hampton Roads complete 2 weeks of intense training to become certified Motor Officers.

Traffic Officer DeLucenay also completed his instructor certification to become an official Motor Instructor. Great job to all!

⚠️ TRAFFIC ALERT: The 7400 block of Tidewater Drive between Biltmore Road and Stanley Street/Central Business Park Drive is closed until further notice for a water main break. Norfolk Utilities is responding. Police are on scene assisting with traffic. Traffic is being diverted to Central Business Park Drive and Thole Street, respectively. Motorists are encouraged to use Granby Street or Chesapeake Boulevard as alternate routes.

14 NPD Officers spent their week attending Bicycle Operations School where they logged roughly 20-30 miles a day on the bike - learned advanced bike handling, bike safety, and police tactics – all skills that help them patrol @norfolkva and stay connected with the community.

Norfolk Police are currently investigating a shooting at the intersection of Rockingham Street and Walker Avenue. A man has been pronounced deceased at the scene. Call came in around 1:10 p.m. Anyone with information about this active investigation is asked to call @nfvacrimeline
