**Change to schedule!** The talk about Bechstein's bats by Simeon Johnson @_BCT_ (to be held online) has been brought forward to Thursday 27th February at 7:30pm.

Looking for bats certainly takes us to interesting places. Good counts of Daubenton's and Natterer's in hibernation sites underneath Norfolk today.

Where bat roosts have been destroyed, Chris has been instrumental in ensuring money from Community Resolution Orders comes to Norfolk and Norwich Bat Group so that it can go straight back into bat conservation here in Norfolk!

Thank you so much to PC Chris Shelley for a fascinating talk about rural crime. We are hugely grateful for the work he does for Norfolk's wildlife, & I think we all feel much better informed now!

Happy World Wetlands Day! Let's raise awareness of how important wetland ecosystems are. We are lucky to have some fabulous wetlands in Norfolk, they are some of our most important bat habitats.

January is the month for @BCT_NBMP hibernation checks. Our bat group members are busy counting across Norfolk. The recent cold weather seems to have brought the bats inside.

Today is the #WinterSolstice , the shortest day of the year. Is it too soon to start a countdown to longer days, warmer evenings and seeing the first bat of the year? Here is the familiar echolocation call of a common pipistrelle - something to look forward to.

Check out this paper! shorturl.at/7xKwP NNBG members have been helping with research into Nathusius' pipistrelle migration. It's been a lot of work but we now know so much more about how this tiny bat crosses the sea. Congrats to Jane & Sue for getting this published.

Our AGM will be on Friday 24th January and will be followed by the next of our Winter talks - Stuart Newson on the @_BTO Acoustic Pipeline. Stuart's enthusiasm for bioacoustics makes this one not to miss!
