In 2018 I put $100K into a crypto project called Skycoin. It initially went up a lot, and then it slowly bled out for two straight years. I didn't sell. I just averaged down and joined 10+ Telegram rooms full of other holders. The founder kept doing interviews blaming the market, and we kept eating it up. I even bought a "Skyminer." It was literally six Raspberry Pi's in a metal frame. I paid 1 BTC for it, which was about $8K at the time. My entire thesis was: if this gets back to ATH, I can cash out $5M and never work again. It never even came close. Eventually I capitulated and sold at a loss. Losing money hurt, but spending two years of my life reading every Telegram message for what ended up being a slow rug was the real loss.
