I’m projecting, but I also feel musicians don’t respect or get as excited to work with someone who isn’t a talented musician themselves. Being a “producer” is a weird position to be in. The albums wouldn’t exist without my work, but I still don’t feel like I belong

My own weakness as a producer is a big part of why I feel that way….. So many doujin labels are run by really strong musicians…. But that’s something I can’t provide for “NotThatRecords”

I feel like the biggest part of running a label I still don’t understand is how to build a core group of members. Of course we work with a lot of great recurring musicians , but everyone is essentially a guest artist….
