@SteigerScott We see this radar artifact occasionally. The following was first theorized by one of our former forecasters... The radar pulse goes from the radar to a shower or storm to the east, reflects west to a tall glass covered building downtown, then back to the east to the radar.

What was this on the weather service radar out of @NWSBUFFALO ? I don’t think birds, a plane, or Superman! My student correctly called I’d be posting it!

Multiple rounds of showers/storms will cross the region through early Wednesday morning, with each round possibly containing locally strong gusty winds. There is also a very low, but non-zero risk for large hail and/or an isolated tornado east of Lake Ontario this afternoon.

Warm but unsettled weather will impact Western and North-Central NY for much of the upcoming work week. Expect rounds of showers and storms, a few of which may become severe Tuesday through Wednesday.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms will cross the region Tuesday morning through early Wednesday morning, with each round possibly containing locally gusty winds.

Winds will increase early Monday morning, with strongest gusts likely through the afternoon hours. Strongest southwest gusts will be found northeast of Lake Erie, including Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Batavia.

Temperatures will trend warmer this afternoon after a chilly start, with highs reaching the 60s in Western NY and 50s east of Lake Ontario. Clouds will thicken this morning, with a few showers this afternoon especially north of the NYS Thruway.

Weekend Outlook: Some morning clouds will give way to a sunny but cool afternoon, with a clear and chilly night ahead. A warm front will then cross the region Sunday, brining warmer temperatures and a few afternoon showers.

Patchy fog is being reported across the Buffalo Southtowns and western Southern Tier this evening. The patchy nature of #fog can lower visibility quickly and unexpectedly—slow down and stay alert!

A stalled surface boundary across our northwestern zones will cause quite the contrast in temps across our area today. This boundary will move southeast across our region as a cold front later this afternoon bringing showers, with a much cooler airmass moving in behind the front.
