Pleased to join L. Joy Williams, the president of the @NYSNAACP, for an inspiring conversation during Women's History Month. L. Joy is a respected leader who has spent her career advancing civil rights and advocating for social justice. Her work is especially needed as those rights are under attack. Thanks for sitting down with me! youtu.be/ZbHII2Z4MHc

One year ago, the President unleashed a broad set of tariffs, and today I am releasing a report revealing what this has meant for NY. Exports declined to nearly half of the state’s trading partners, with Canada seeing the biggest drop of $3.8B. More in my report ⬇️ osc.ny.gov/press/releases…

As laid out in my recent report on NYC childcare, a drawback of current programs is difficulty in finding services that are spread out & regulated among different agencies. Combining these offerings into one map + website directly addresses this concern. osc.ny.gov/press/releases…

NYC’s new child care search tool puts 10,000 programs, safety records, and maps in one place. “This will make it easier for parents to understand the options in front of them,” Mamdani said of the newly launched directory. chalkbeat.org/newyork/2026/0…

International tourism to NY dropped in 2025, impacting jobs and harming local economies, especially near the Canadian border. Tariffs are also taking a toll. NY exports declined with nearly half of the state’s trading partners. Supportive policies that welcome travelers and trade are needed to avoid damaging economic consequences. osc.ny.gov/press/releases…🔗

Wishing our Jewish friends and neighbors a meaningful Passover as celebrations begin this evening. The Passover story of the Jewish people overcoming persecution still echoes today. Let us remember the importance of faith, hope and resilience, especially in turbulent times. Chag Pesach Sameach!

My office wrapped up Women’s History Month with an engaging conversation about the importance of women in shaping a sustainable future. The lunchtime employee presentation featured Liz Gordon, Exec. Dir. for Corporate Governance here at the State Comptroller’s office. She says women bring unique experiences to the table that help drive sustainable change around the world. @ACE_newyork Exec. Dir Marguerite Wells then joined her for an enlightening discussion. Thanks to Liz, Marguerite and the Women on Work committee volunteers for putting the event together.

A major finding of my report on #NYC child care was the need to better understand existing child care arrangements and the hours when care is needed. 🧵⬇️ 🔗My report: osc.ny.gov/press/releases…

Expanding the farm to school program would benefit farmers and students and get more local food into schools. As lawmakers take up the issue, my audit on the initiative recommends ways the state could increase the # of school districts eligible for a higher school lunch reimbursement rate if they source 30% of their food from NY farms and processors. nystateofpolitics.com/state-of-polit…
